Colour Stability – Radiation Fading

What this service covers.

Certain gemstone colours are induced or enhanced by natural or artificial radiation and may fade with prolonged light exposure. The laboratory subjects specimens to controlled UV and visible light exposure to assess colour stability.

This test is particularly relevant for kunzite, certain sapphires, maxixe beryl, and irradiated topaz – species where unstable colour centres can result in significant colour loss over time.

Included in this service

✓ Controlled UV and light exposure testing

✓ Before-and-after colour comparison

✓ Stability determination: stable or unstable
